Want to be a part of Astoria’s oldest, most well-known gym? CrossFit Queens is a welcoming, supportive and inclusive training community conveniently located off the N/W train at Astoria Blvd and the M60S bus stop. Our 4,500 square foot facility is decked out with barbells, kettlebells, dumbbells, a massive pull up bar rig from Rogue, Concept2 rowers, Assault Bikes, Echo Bikes, and a TrueForm runner. We train anyone and everyone. At CFQ you’ll find students, executives, stay-at-home parents, athletes, artists, techies, educators, lawyers, and more. All experience levels are welcome!

Brandy passionately believes that fitness can change your life and lives to empower others. After years as a successful trial attorney, she turned her passion into her career, founding CFQ in 2009. When Brandy is not in the box you can find her regularly competing. She has done both team and individual competitions at the CrossFit Games, raced in 5Ks, plays USTA tennis, and tests herself through Tough Mudder and Urbanathlon obstacle races.

ABOUT JAMIE
Meet the “Tall handsome Potato Man.” Jamie’s diverse background includes martial arts, circus training, breakdancing, and yoga (and over 32 years experience at being alive!). Starting out as a member at CrossFit Queens, he attended so often that upon getting his certification, he made the transition to assistant coach. Now he’s a lead coach with a passion for weightlifting and “sending it.” Jamie looks for the members he coaches to always give their best. In doing so, he sees them improve and better themselves, which is the most gratifying part of his job.

Ben has been in the NYC Fitness Industry for 10 years and has coached in Manhattan for 8. He has helped athletes in both group and individual settings exceed their goals. Ben is constantly pushing himself to become the best version of himself – as both a coach and an athlete. When he’s not training or working out, he can be found with his 2 dogs, visiting local coffee shops with his wife, and enjoying all things Marvel and Star Wars!

Buchanan grew up watching Avatar: The Last Airbender, Batman, Ben 10, and many other anime style shows. Following in the footsteps of these animated icons, he started his hero training doing gymnastics and martial arts and built an appreciation for coaching early on. Now he’s a competitive Olympic Weightlifter and has been coaching CrossFit in New York since 2018. Outside the gym, you might catch him trying to learn how to skateboard around the neighborhood, acting on stage, or playing capture the flag with his roommates in the park.

Jeff Scott
CrossFit Level 2 Trainer
ABOUT JEFF
Jeff grew up playing baseball and soccer in a suburban part of Queens, shifting to rollerblading as a teenager. This remained his focus until 2006 when one of his childhood friends turned him on to bodybuilding. Jeff has split time between the two ever since. In 2013, he competed in his first Bodybuilding competition in the Men’s Physique category. That same year one of his co-workers turned him on to CrossFit and the rest is history. For the past 5 years, Jeff has been a CF-L2 coach for a local CrossFit affiliate. Jeff is currently leading our new Foundations program that he personally designed to prepare everyone for group class.

Jenna Tomsko
CrossFit Level 2 Trainer
ABOUT JENNA
Jenna has been a leader in the fitness industry for over 10 years. A former head coach and programming director at EVF Performance, she coached absolute beginners to elite athletes, and 8-year olds to 80-year olds. She’s a Level 2 Crossfit Trainer, and holds certifications from the American College of Sports Medicine, Kettlebell Concepts, and rowing through Ucan. She’ll soon be Precision Nutrition certified. Since the pandemic, Jenna has been running an online programming and nutrition coaching business, mainly focused on intuitive eating and anti-diet approaches. She’s a self-proclaimed body positive trainer, and firmly believes that fitness comes in all sizes.
