I came to Cross Fit on the suggestion of a friend who goes to a CrossFit in a different city. I had a gym membership that I wasn’t making the most of and typically had a hard time motivating myself to go. After going to a free trial session at CrossFit, I really enjoyed it and decided it was a good idea to go regularly. Paul and Brandy were very friendly and welcoming to me the first time I showed up, and continue to be very encouraging and motivating people. Having been attending Cross Fit classes for about 2 months now, it has become part of my regular schedule and its something that I look forward to doing. I’ve already started to see improvements in my strength and I’ve done work outs and exercises that I’ve never done before. Going to cross fit has really just been a positive experience overall for me and it really keeps me motivated when I am there. Brandy and Paul – keep up the good work and thanks!

I have been working with Paul and Brandy at Crossfit Queens NY for 4 months, after taking a year off from working out in general due to knee surgery. I went from a size 6 to a size 12 in this one year. Working with Paul and Brandy for these past 4 months has gotten me back to a size 6! I can truly tell you that this is the best work out I’ve tried yet. In these short 4 months, my strength, flexibility, and speed have grown abundantly! 4 months ago I wouldn’t believe that I could possibly deadlift 185lbs!
If you are a beginner, Brandy and Paul will get you through this like a pro. Their expertise in this field is easily demonstrated in their patience and eagerness to help everyone meet their goal. I took my first CrossfFt class about 5 months ago and have found each class energized with a great workout. The training is challenging, unique and effective. Brandy and Paul are great at making sure we have the right form and getting the most of every workout. My initial goals were to focus on upper body strength and build my endurance level. Before I barely could do one full push up, I am now surprising myself with 20! I am really pleased as I see myself getting stronger every week, toning up and have much more confidence with every workout or sport I attempt.

I first started CrossFit as a free class on a Sunday morning to accompany my wife. Much to my surprise, this has been a great way to kick off our Sunday mornings. The intense and short workouts have given me a boost of energy, and in the process, have given me more strength. A year ago, I was only able to do three straight pull ups without assistance, today I can do 10. CrossFit has been a great addition to my workout regimen and I can see the results as I can lift more weight and run further distances. For someone like myself who travels most of the week and has limited spare time, CrossFit provides me with some easy to do exercises in short intervals without the need of fancy equipment. Brandy and Paul do an incredible job of keeping up with everyone’s progress and have made CrossFit a fun experience in my hometown of Queens, NY.

We started CFQ in May, a month after we got married. We were looking for a way to get in shape, but neither of us are impressed with gyms and we really didn’t want to have to commit to a membership and the idea of running on a treadmill just didn’t appeal to us. We didn’t know much about the program, and after our first workout we were completely wiped out, we were hooked! In the two months that we’ve worked out with CFQ we’ve gone from barely being able to do push-ups and sit-ups to doing 100 burpees in ten minutes (among other crazy feats). We noticed changes right away in our bodies–not only did our clothes fit better, but we had built muscle. We feel better, have more energy and we also have the confidence to know that we can be athletic in ways that we thought were long behind us. We look forward to the workouts and seeing what new things Paul and Brandy have decided to make us do. Only Paul and Brandy can tell us to do these things and we obey without hesitation! They are clearly knowledgeable, we completely trust them with our physical well being and we’re 100% satisfied with the results! The group we workout with is like a team. We love the camaraderie and friendly competition that make the WOD’s something to look forward to every time.

This will be my 5th month working out with Paul and Brandy at CrossFit Queens and I’m not planning to leave them anytime soon. I find the motivation I couldn’t find in conventional gyms. Paul and Brandy really know how to make you give the extra effort while making it fun. The workouts are always efficient and the results are easy to see. Now I can lift more weight, run longer and have lost a couple of pounds while having fun with the rest of the team.

I joined CFQ in the summer of ’09 and have been inspired to push myself even further, train even harder and be more respectful to my body in the meantime. After years of being a gymnast, retiring, gaining weight, and trying every diet and exercise program under the sun, I came to love CrossFit for the supportive atmosphere. I love the intensity and variety of the routines and really thrive off the community involvement. When I moved to NYC, I was looking for a community and CrossFit Queens gave that to me. Brandy and Paul have been supportive of my growth, my time and my strengths and I cannot thank them enough for helping me realize how capable I am. Competing with CFQ has been the greatest experience and has taught me so much. I know I am capable of anything with CrossFit in my corner!

I would like to thank everyone on the Crossfit Queens team for allowing me to be part of the team. I kinda fell into the group when i was invited to the Urbanathlon in Chicago last year and i have been doing contest with you guys ever since.
This years Affiliate Cup was the best so far. We had lots of fun and we all got to experience what a group contest is like. I want to give a big congratulations to my team mates who were rookies coming in to this. You all did great and we will do even better next year! Lets go CFQ!!!!

After experiencing the North East Affiliate games I realize what it means to be a Crossfitter. My experience at the games has reaffirmed my commitment to Crossfit and to my overall fitness goals This is an amazing community of people that wont give up and will always push you beyond where you ever thought you can go. This trait transcends the gym and carries through every aspect of a Crossfitters life. Crossfit is not only a workout it is a family. The people you meet through this community quickly become some of your best friends. I feel very lucky to have found this inspiring community!
